AHS is full of pride: Just count uniforms

Webster defines Pride as the quality or state of being Proud: A feeling of happiness that you get when you or someone you know does something good: a reasonable or justifiable self-respect: the best in a group or class: a showy or impressive group.

I challenge you to visit Andalusia High School and see what “School Pride” is all about.

Come to a football game on Friday night and see the pride and traditions associated with the team and clubs.

Listen to the ringing of the bell, the sound of a traditional national anthem and the singing of the alma mater.

While many programs at schools our size have decreased in numbers, Andalusia continues to have extraordinary participation in all activities.

If you come to an Andalusia High School football game, you won’t see a huge student section, but there is a very good reason for that.

Some people would say that this means there is a lack of pride, but students at Andalusia High School show their pride by participating in a heap of extracurricular activities.

At a school of less than 500 students, you would expect to have about 125 students participate in extra-curricular activities, but at Andalusia High School that is not the case. Come and observe the 75 fantastic football players, 22 spirit-filled cheerleaders and mascot, and the 148 magnificent marching band members and see the pride and school spirit associated with these organizations.

Our next home game is Oct. 9, 2015, against Headland.

Don’t judge us by the number of students in regular street clothes; judge us by the numbers in uniforms!

There is no school around that has the participation that Andalusia does.

Come observe the pride exuberated with the students of Andalusia High School.
