Red Level held its annual basketball banquet Monday night at the high school cafeteria.

The boys and girls junior varsity and varsity basketball teams, Red Level’s junior varsity cheerleaders were recognized at the banquet.

In addition, special individual awards were given to athletes that excelled during their sports’ respective season.

Cheerleaders

RLS junior varsity cheerleader sponsors Jenny Henderson and Gabriel Hall thanked the cheerleaders for all of their hard work during the basketball season.

Each cheerleader received a trophy.

Basketball

Girls

Head girls basketball coach Delores Douglas recognized the three seniors leaving the varsity squad, handed out special awards to players on the junior varsity and varsity squads, and awarded certificates to each player.

The three seniors are Lania Paulk, Koneshia Calloway and Darshana Maddox.

Junior varsity

Special awards were given to Katie Lindsey (coaches award); Dashia James (team player award); Brandi Hendrix (highest free throw percentage); Katie Ingram (most improved player); Sydney Duke (scholastic award); Kayla Hinson (hustle award); Shelby Holley (outstanding defensive player): and Hendrix (outstanding offensive player).

Varsity

Douglas presented all members and managers of the varsity girls basketball team with certificates and gave special awards to players, along with the seniors.

Senior awards were given to Lania Paulk, Koneshia Calloway and Darshana Maddox.

Special awards were given to Lakeshia Harris (coaches award); Courtney Douglas (team player award); Calloway (highest free throw percentage); Zania Bullock (most improved player); Douglas (scholastic award); Bullock (hustle award); Paulk (outstanding defensive player); and Calloway (outstanding offensive player).

Boys

B-team basketball coach Scott Donaldson recognized each player on the and each receieved a trophy.

Then, head varsity basketball coach Fred Kelley recognized and thanked his players, coaches and support staff.

Special awards were given to the varsity boys players and seniors that excelled in the 2009-10 season.

The awards were given to the two seniors, Trey Salter and Shadow Coates.

The individual awards were given to Salter and Troy Nolen (outstanding offensive players); Nick Nolen (coaches award); James Feagin and Preston Ryce (outstanding defensive players); Nick Nolen (scholastic award); Raheem Bullock and O.J. McGee (most improved award); and Tyler Paulk and Nick Dorsey (Tiger award).
