The showdown between the Andalusia 9 & 10-year-old All Star Dixie Girls Softball Team and the Enterprise All-Stars was temporarily delayed by inclement weather in Opp, but thanks to a quick move to Andalusia's Johnson Park, the game went on.
The championship game of the tournament got underway in Opp, but in the third inning, rain drenched the field prompting the move to Andalusia, but the home-field advantage wasn't enough as the Andalusia ladies fell to the Enterprise ladies 10-1.
Tied at 1 run apiece through five innings, Enterprise scored three unanswered runs off of one hit to take a 4-1 lead. Andalusia's All-Stars gave it their best efforts in the bottom of the fifth, but came up short.
In the top of the sixth inning, a controversial call that went all the way to the District Commissioner, gave the Enterprise ladies an insurmountable 10-1 lead.
Andalusia, not to back down, gave it their all but fell short of a rally.
At the conclusion of the game, the Andalusia ladies showed all the class they had and proudly accepted their runners-up trophy as the Enterprise All-Stars accepted their championship trophy.
