Students usually take the summer off, but Red Level senior Frank Tolbert was busy this summer playing ball.
Tolbert was one of the All-Stars selected to play in the North-South All-Star Game during All-Star Sports Week in Montgomery last month.
Tolbert and his teammates on the South team suited up for a game against the North squad at 8 p.m. on Thursday, July 17 at the AUM Arena.
Tolbert was fast out of the gate with a steal and a three-point basket within the first two minutes of the game.
He canned another three-pointer about three minutes later.
Tolbert followed his second three-pointer with a big defensive rebound and then converted a jumper on offense to knot the score at 14-14.
The South team had a 43-39 lead at the halftime intermission.
In the second half, the North squad found its shooting range and went on a run for a 98-85 victory.
Tolbert was among the leading scorers for the South squad with 10 points. He was 3-of-7 from the floor, including 2-of-4 from three-point range. He also shot 50 percent from the charity stripe converting 2-of-4 chances. Tolbert grabbed three rebounds in the game.
Devin Person was the leading scorer for the South with 15 points. Julius Allgood scored 10 points for the South.
