McKenzie eliminates Eagles

The Pleasant Home varsity boys' basketball team had its season come to an end Tuesday night with a loss to McKenzie at the Class 1A, Area 2 Tournament being played at J.F. Shields High School in Beatrice.
McKenzie outscored Pleasant Home for a 77-49 victory.
The Tigers doubled up Pleasant Home in the first quarter racing out to a 22-11 lead.
Both teams scored 11 points in the second quarter with McKenzie on top 33-22 at the halftime break.
In the third quarter, McKenzie outscored Pleasant Home 15-9 for a 48-31 lead going into the final quarter.
A 29-18 run in the final eight minutes sealed the win for McKenzie.
McKenzie had four players reach double figures in scoring. Russell Davison led the way with 23 points. David Davison and Jordan Lowe scored 17 points each. Rhett Lowe added 10 points.
Devin Spivey was the leading scorer for Pleasant Home with 18 points.
McKenzie faces the J.F. Shields Panthers in the semi-final round of the tournament on Friday. Tip-off is set for 8:30 p.m.
The Brantley Bulldogs will face the Florala Wildcats in the other semi-final game. The Bulldogs and Wildcats are scheduled to face off at 5:30 p.m.
The Pleasant Home Lady Eagles and Florala Lady Wildcats will also be in action Friday. The Lady Eagles face the Lady Wildcats at 4 p.m. on Friday.
All of the games are being played at J.F. Shields High School in Beatrice. Admission is $5.
