Edna Boutwell needs our help.

A friend of hers has a little

10-year-old boy in Dothan that takes chemotherapy treatments. If everyone will collect the pop-top rings off soft drink cans one pound will pay for one treatment.

Boutwell is helping to collect these rings. Please call her at 334-335-4077 and she will see that these get to the right person to help this child. You could be recycling and saving a life at the same time.

Dozier Freewill Baptist Church will be having a yard/bake sale Saturday.

Camp stew will also be on sale. The Natives will be on hand entertaining the crowd with their dancing.

New and used items will be for sale in the yard sale. If you would like to order the camp stew ahead of time please call Debbie Pearce at 527-3197. It's $5 a quart and you can always freeze for later.

Also, if you have items to donate please call Debbie Pearce and she will make arrangements picked them up.

The New Jerusalem Revival Center on Emmette Ave. (Old Glenwood Rd) will hold Harvest Night at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 24.

Pastor Linda Cantlow Hunter has invited Pastor Reginald Simpkins of the Heart of God Ministries of Montgomery to be the guest speaker.

C Sunday school begins at 9:45 a.m., morning worship starts at 11 am and Bible study is held Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m.

The Gospel Valley Boy will be singing at Dozier Freewill Baptist Church at 7 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 25. Supper will be served an hour before the singing.

Dozier Freewill Baptist church will also hold its Homecoming Sunday, Oct. 10, which will feature a pie-throwing contest. It's the women against the men on the

Congratulations to Lynn (Horn) Sanders and Randall Hathaway on the birth of their beautiful baby girl.

Shelby Lynn Hathaway was born at the Andalusia Hospital on Saturday, Sept. 4 and weighed 7 pounds, 2 ounces and was 20-inches long.

The newborn's proud aunt, Elisha Horn, said the baby girl has a head full of beautiful black hair.

The Hathaway's reside in Opp. The grandparents are the late Dan Horn and Wanda (Bradley) Sanders and Kenny Sanders and Steve and Wanda Hathaway of Brantley. Great-grandparents are Bill and Lucille (Deavers) Bradley of Brantley.

There are a lot of birthdays this month.

Happy Birthday wishes are extended to the following: Beth Ann Tompkins (13 years old) Sept. 4; Dr Charles Tompkins Sept. 5; Dixie May and Dillon Ray Raupak (one year old) Sept. 11, my granddaughter Alexis (6 years old) Sept. 12, my husband Lamar Sept. 16, my grandson Little Joe (12 years old) Sept. 27 and my granddaughter Nikkie (6 years old) Sept. 29.

Lynn Raupak brings her children by the store every chance she gets and the twins are walking now. Dixie is a little bigger than Dillon, but both are as cute as a button.

I haven't actually spoken with the Beasley family, but friends of the family tell me that Nolin is improving. God hears and answers prayers.
