The 3rd annual South Luverne Baptist Church Women's Fall Fellowship was held Sunday afternoon September 12, 2004 at 2:00 P.M. at Moseley's cabin. Debra Moseley, Director of S.L.B.C. Women's Ministry, welcomed everyone and opened with prayer. Special music was given by Nancy Petrey, Naomi Miles and Jessica Carpenter. The guest speaker was Jill Andrews, who blessed and touched everyone hearts with her personal testimony. The group attending laughed and cried and was in awe as Jill shared some of her life experiences about her Christian walk with God. Then Debra made several announcements of up-coming events that will be sponsored by The Women's Ministry of S.L.B.C. Then a time of food and fellowship was enjoyed by the 40 plus ladies in attendance. During the fellowship time a revealing of Secret Sisters was held by exchange of gifts . After the fellowship a drawing for door prizes was exciting. The door prizes were donated by local and surrounding businesses. Debra made a special effort to let the ladies know who gave the special door prizes and encouraged everyone to thank and patronize the businesses who were so generous. Sissy Smyth dismissed the fellowship with prayer.

The Luverne High School classmates of 1947, "Lunch Group", resumed their monthly luncheons on Thursday, September 9,2004. The group did not meet in June, July or August due to summer vacations and other summer activities. The classmates will now meet each second Thursday of each month . The time and place will be announced for the October meeting when plans are finalized. Margaret Nichols made arrangements for the September Luncheon that was held at The Ole Hotel. After lunch the group visited Bobby and Becky Welch on Milton Road. Edna Norsworthy arranged this outing for her classmates to see the Old Home Place, of Becky Welch, that is a 100 years plus old. This was truly a step back into time as the group enjoyed a tour of the log home. Becky was a gracious hostess as she showed the group from room to room where many books, treasures, pictures of her ancestors and antique items were tastefully displayed for viewing. On the porches were many displays of old farming items of long ago and the old rocking chairs were so inviting, that made you want to sit a spell.. After the tour everyone gathered in the living room while Becky played the piano and sang several song. Becky played several tunes from the fifties and sixties. She also played several songs on an old organ. The classmates presented Becky with a small gift of appreciation for taking the time to let them visit her old home place. Some of the class mates stated, "This is the best trip and time we have had."

Others attending were Mattie Pearl Sport, Mildred Martin, Louise Morgan, Adine Moseley, Sara Kirkland, Voncile Nichols, Florence Jeffcoat, Susan Slaughter Borom and Ramona Barrow.
