We will be losing a community asset this week with the closing of Piney Woods Flea Market.

It was moved to its present location on Hwy. 331 in Ada from Highland Home in 1998. Mr. Leonard and Ms. Sylvia Phillips of Lapine opened this family business many years ago. However, due to health reasons, they must close the business they loved so much. They will be selling everything in their stock from 8:30 a.m. until 5 p.m. on Dec. 10 and 11.

Items such as antiques, gift items, tools, fishing equipment and collectibles will be sold, as well as anything else in the store. They are even selling their store fixtures such as coolers, antique jewelry stands and other items.

The Phillips said that they started their business to remain in touch with the community, which they love. They will miss everyone and would like to thank those who have assisted them through the years.

Piney Woods is located on 331 right past the Ada Amoco. Come say goodbye to our friends.
