The Indians, A's, White Sox and Gators all kicked off the opening night of Greenville Parks and Recreation Baseball/Softball with victories. In the Dixie Boys, the Indians, powered by Steven Lee's pair of doubles soundly defeated the White Sox. Lakendale Cook tacked on a pair of singles and a pair of RBI's and Adam Bailey Braden connected on a base hit and had three RBI's on the night. Defensively, Lee faced seven batters and sent four marching back to the dugout with a "K" hung around their necks.

Dustin Shell proved to be the only offense that the White Sox could muster. Shell finished the night with one hit.

The Indians used a four-run first and a six-run second to push themselves ahead of their opponents. The three White Sox runs came in the bottom of the third inning. Unfortunately, that was the only offense they were able to muster.

A's 8 - Red Sox 5

The A's proved to be three runs better than their opponents, the Red Sox. Stewart Moody fueled the A's offensive production with two hits and two RBI's. Rocky Harrell added a hit and an RBI.

For the Red Sox, Cordez Peagler tacked on a pair of hits, one a double and an RBI.

The A's jumped out to a 4-0 lead and then to a 6-2 lead. Both teams battled through the fourth and fifth innings and were held to two runs in the top of the sixth. The Red Sox however, like their professional name-sakes tried to make a run of it.

They rallied for three runs in the bottom of the sixth inning to cut the lead to 8-5, but they were unable to push anymore runs across the plate and fell short on Opening Day.
