The Andalusia Lady Bulldogs junior varsity softball team defeated Florala 11-5 on Saturday to win the Opp junior varsity softball tournament.

The Lady Bulldogs didn’t get off to a good start one day earlier, when they lost to Kinston, 13-6.

“The girls showed a lot of character especially after the Kinston game,” Andalusia coach Marcus Taylor said. “We talked about coming back and playing hard after our first game, and they did that.”

On Saturday, Andalusia beat Florala 10-1, Opp 2-0 and Enterprise 7-6 before claiming the tournament title.

“The little things I preach at practice have paid off,” Taylor said.
