The race for the top spot in the Hogg front-wheel drive division tightened up last Saturday with Johnny Beck drawing to within a point of leader Carey Stallworth after Beck earned a feature win.
Beck won the pole and then took the checkered flag last Saturday at the Butler County Motorsports Park by holding off R.E. Powell. Beck now is a point off the pace with 134. Stallworth was managed to hold onto his lead by finishing third in the feature race.
Points leaders Jim Till, Randy Adams and Wayne Cawley have an even stronger hold to the lead in their respective divisions after taking the pole and coming away with the feature victory.
Till, who leads the Late Model division by 76 points over Jack Daughtery, held off Scott Myers for the feature win. Jason Owens finished third.
Adams took the checkered flag in the Super Hobbie division by nipping Billy Watson.
Wayne Lee finished third.
Cawley managed to hold off Todd Rayburn for the win in the Pure Hogg rear-wheel drive division, while Ashley Johnson finished third.
Will Henderson also extended his lead in the Street Stock division by winning the feature race over Dewey Boggan and Steven McDonald. Lucas Mosley won the pole, but did not finish in the top three.
Those drivers who won the pole contributed their winnings for the Hurricane Katrina disaster relief fund. Camellia Auto Parts and Late Model driver John Weaver also contributed $100 each.
The motorsports park collected just over $1,500 Saturday night for the relief effort.
