The Slammers scored five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning including the game-winner to top the Shockers 9-8 on the opening day of the Dixie Ponytail softball season Monday at the Greenville Softball Complex.

Summer Roper and Kodi Wright each had a hit for the Slammers.

Alex Keel scored the game-winning run.

Cole Benson led the Shockers with two hits.

Kennedy Harris, Kasey Harrell, Te'Lesha McDonald and Karli Boulware chipped in a hit each.

Angels

Comets 19, She Devils 4

Khadra Findley was perfect at the plate going 4-for-4, including a three-run home run in the second inning to lead the Comets past the She Devils.

Alex Courtney was 3-for-4 with seven RBIs, while Whitney Boswell was 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Lindsey Gibson also was 1-for-4 with two RBI.

Amber Harris led the She Devils with two hits. Olivia Foster, Emily Webster and Bridaejae Patterson had a hit each.

Heat 14, Wildcats 2

Dana Moore ripped a three-run home run in the first inning and finished the day 2-for-3 with two runs scored to lead the Heat past the Wildcats.

Tekira Walker chipped in three hits and three RBIs. Hannah Burnett, Hannah Reaves and Taylor Waller had two hits each.

The Wildcats were hitless, but Charli Hood and Chloe Langston scored a run each.

Dixie Minors

Twins 3, Astros 1

In a battle of undefeated teams, the Twins improved to 4-0 to hand the Astros their first loss of the Dixie Minor youth league baseball season on Monday.

The Twins answered the Astros only run in the second inning by plating three runs in the top of the third for the victory.

Mike Smith, Roscoe Moorehead, Harper Vinson and Brady Edge collected a hit each for the Twins.

The Astros (3-1) also scattered four hits. Chip Taylor and Chase Whiddon had a double each, while Davis Crocker and Michael Myers reached on singles.

Orioles 7, Red Sox 1

The Orioles improved to 3-1 on the season by putting a one-run game out of reach in the fourth and fifth innings. The Orioles scored three runs in the fourth and added two more in the fifth for the win.

The Orioles scattered 14 hits with Toby King leading the team with three hits, including a double and a triple.

Colby Booker, Cade Tillery, Payton Frazier and McKinley Lee chipped in with two hits each.

The Red Sox were limited to one hit. Blake Harris came away with the team's only hit.

Yankees 12, Braves 2

The Yankees scattered eight hits and held the Braves to just one in the victory.

Jack Bates led the Yankees with two hits.

Aaron Whilhite, Kyle Beasley, Blake Missledine, Daniel Hall Autrey, Jeffery Fuller and Jeffery Register had a hit each.

Clem Cole came away with the Braves' only hit. Daniel Dicks and Cole scored the Braves' runs.

Dixie Youth

Braves 10, White Sox 0

The Braves remained perfect on the season with a no-hit shutout victory over the White Sox on Friday.

The Braves scattered seven hits with Cody Tesmer leading the team with two hits.

Brandon Matthews, Hunter Armstrong, Skylar McKeown, Dustin Moorehead and Quenorous Cook had a hit each for the Braves.

A's 8, Red Sox 5

The A's scored five runs in the first inning and cruised the rest of the way for the win.

The A's scattered five hits with Mitch Young, Raymond Moody, Briar Kirby, Wesley Scott and Matthew Bender collecting a hit.

Stephen Till led the Red Sox with two hits, while Tucker Harrell had one.
