Former Butler County Coroner Wayne Garlock is seeking re-election to the office he held from 1998 to 2002.
Garlock is on the Democratic ticket, which also includes John Cowles, Calvin “Bubba” Allen and Virgil Acreman. The primary will be held on June 6.
“I look forward to being elected to the coroner position again and re-establish the respect that has been lost over the past four years,” said Garlock. “I have the desire to hold this position and I feel with my experience and qualifications, I am the best candidate for the job.”
Garlock and wife, Lisa, have owned GEMS Ambulance Service in Greenville since 1999. He served in the Army from 1976 to 1980. While serving, he was awarded numerous medals of accommodation, including the Army Accommodation of Merit.
Garlock attended the University of Maryland and majored in criminal justice. Following his discharge from the Army, he attended LBWCC and Trenholm State Technical College, and holds a license as a paramedic with an associates degree in Emergency Medial Services.
“I appreciate the encouragement I have received from the community already, and will appreciate each and every vote I receive,” he said. “If elected, I promise to serve the citizens of Butler County with the utmost respect and professionalism.”
