Stephen Till had a pair of singles, scored three runs and struck out 11 White Sox batters May 5, as the Red Sox outlasted the White Sox, 7-6, in extra innings.

Ryan Taylor broke the Dixie Youth game wide open in the fifth inning when his single scored Andy and Dalton Burns, making the score 6-2. Taylor finished the game 2-for-3 with a double.

Although down, the White Sox were not about to give up. Jerome Cook's single in the sixth inning scored Jason Schofield and Da'Marcus Wilson after a pair of walks and passed balls. Connally Walters' double drove in Wesley Hendrix, tying the game at 6-6 going into the final inning.

Cook, who also struck out 11 Red Sox batters, had a strong showing on the mound and went the distance for the White Sox.

Bud Thaggard's seventh-inning walk proved to be the game-winning run for the Red Sox when Dalton Burns hit into a fielder's choice, scoring Thaggard.

A's 5, White Sox 4

Brandon Smith's sixth-inning single was just what the A's needed May 2, as the center fielder scored what proved to be the winning run over the White Sox, 5-4.

Smith's clutch hitting started in the first inning with a double, scoring Ray Moody and Mitch Young, and continued throughout the game. Smith finished the game 3-for-3 at the plate, with the double, a triple and two runs scored.

Young also had a strong game for the A's, scoring two runs on his 2-for-3 night at the plate.

For the White Sox, Connally Walters had a big night, hitting 2-for-3 with a triple and two RBI's.

Wesley Scott earned the win for the A's while striking out 12 White Sox batters.

Red Sox 5, Braves 3

Ryan Taylor and Dalton Burns combined for four hits May 2, as the Red Sox continued their winning ways by downing the Braves, 5-3.

The Red Sox opened up the game by scoring two runs in the top of the first inning off an Andy Burns single and they never looked back.

David Miller earned the win for the Red Sox while also recording seven strikeouts. Cody Tesmer had an astonishing 11 strikeouts for the Braves, while also going 2-for-3 at the plate.

Hunter Armstrong led all hitters, going a perfect 3-for-3, with a double and a run scored.

Tillery sends 13 packing to lead O's over Yanks

Cade Tillery had a huge night for the Orioles Tuesday, striking out 13 batters while also going 2-for-3 at the plate with two doubles and two runs scored en route to a 10-2 win over the Yankees.

The Orioles scored three runs in the first inning off of three doubles by Tillery, Colby Booker and Shane Holcolabe, and they never relinquished the lead. The Orioles' shortstop, Payton Frazier, also had a big night at the plate, going 3-for-3 with a double and three runs scored.

For the Yankees, Jeffrey Register and Jeffrey Fuller each a double in the loss.

Astros 18, Braves 3

The Astros did not waste any time putting runs on the scoreboard Tuesday night when Donte Lee slugged a home run in the game's first at-bat.

The Astros continued to pound out run after run, scoring 12 runs in the opening inning. Lee was the leading hitter for the Astros, going 2-for-2 with a home run and two runs scored.

Astros' pitcher Luke Hamm recorded nine strikeouts and the win in the mercy-rule shortened game. Curt Davis led the Braves with a single a run scored.

Twins 10, Red Sox 2

Twins' pitcher Harper Vinson not only was a force to be reckoned with on the mound Tuesday night, but Vinson was also the Twins' leading hitter in the 10-2 win over the Red Sox.

Vinson got the game started by retiring the first three Red Sox batters in order, and then got the Twins' offense going with a leadoff walk. Roscoe Morehead, Mike Smith and Brady Edge each followed Vinson with a hit, giving the Twins five runs in the first inning.

Vinson finished the game 2-for-2 with three runs scored and a triple, while Morehead and Edge were also perfect at the plate, each going 3-for-3.

On the mound, Vinson struck out 10 Red Sox batters en route to the win.

Blake Harris, Ryan Burkett, James Burkett, Joseph Peavy and Deaton Owens each had hits for the Red Sox.

Dixie Boys

Red Sox 11, Braves 8

In Dixie Boys action, the Red Sox downed the Braves Tuesday night, 11-8, following a seven-run, third inning rally off the bat of Cory Folds.

Folds' leadoff single and two consecutive stolen bases got the Red Sox's bats going and they never stopped. Folds finished the night 2-for-2 with two runs scored and a double while teammate Jonathan Scott also finished 2-for-2 with two runs scored. Todd Burkett also had two hits and two runs scored.

Dustin Till earned the win with 11 strikeouts.

Offensively for the Braves, Luke Hutcheson and Thomas Nolan each went 2-for-3 with two runs scored while Daniel Nolan went 1-for-1 with a double and two runs scored.

Yankees 5, Nationals 1

Yankees' pitcher Aaron Callen had a huge night on the mound for the Yankees Tuesday night as the pitcher struck out 13 batters on his way to a victory over the Nationals, 5-1.

Offensively, the Yankees were led by Paul Whigham, who went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and a run scored. Alex Bowden and Josh Ray also each had a double.

For the Nationals, Daniel Frazier scored the lone run off of a leadoff home run blast in the seventh inning. Dillon Frazier also had a hit for the Nationals.

Dixie Ponytails

Shockers 11, Slammers 1

Karli Boulware recorded 10 strikeouts while also going 2-for-3 at the plate May 1, as the Shockers down the Slammers, 11-1, in Dixie Ponytail action.

The Shockers got things going early when TeLesha McDonald's first inning triple drove in three runs. McDonald scored three runs on the day.

The Slammers were never able to recover from the first inning deficit, with the Shockers adding a run an inning for the next three innings. A three-run fifth inning by the Shockers all but sealed the victory.

Mia Johnson went 2-for-3 for the Slammers while teammate Alex Vickery went 2-for-2 at the plate.

Shockers 8, Slammers 4

Behind the strong arm of Shockers' pitcher TeLesha McDonald, the Shockers' pitching staff combined for a one-hitter Tuesday night on their way to victory, 8-4, over the Slammers.

Although the Slammers scored four runs in the final inning, only one run was earned after a batter was hit and two wild pitches forced walks.

The Shockers combined for 15 strikeouts on the mound, while only striking out six times at the plate.

The Shockers were led offensively by Kennedy Harris, as the second baseman went 2-for-2 on the night.

Dixie Angels

Comets 7, Heat 1

Morgan Davis, Alex Courtney and Khadra Findley combined for four runs Tuesday night as the Comets knocked off the Heat, 7-1.

Courtney and Findley each had a hit for the Comets while Whitney Boswell and Madison Gibson each scored a run also.

The two Hannah's, Hannah Burkette and Hannah Reaves, led the Heat offensively with Burkette going 2-for-2 with two singles and Reaves scoring the Heat's only run in the second inning.

She Devils 12, Wildcats 4 (Under protest)

Tuesday night's She Devils-Wildcats' game was both devilish and wild Tuesday night with the game ending in controversy.

Following a four-run first inning by the Wildcats, the She Devils proceeded to score 12 runs until the game was called due to the time limit. Both coaches argued that the game was called approximately a minute too early and the result of the game is now under protest.
