Pleasant Home’s Lady Eagles beat Elba Tuesday 25-9, 19-25, 25-16, 25-15 in varsity volleyball action at PHS.

Recently, the Lady Eagles have found themselves in a hole during the match, and somehow dug their way out of it, coach Jerry Davis said.

“I don’t know exactly what you call it,” Davis said. “We haven’t figured out how to finish stuff up. We get ourselves in a hole, and then we come back.

“If I can figure this out, then I’ll write a book about it,” he said. “That’s the way it goes.”

Davis said Raven Woods had a good game hitting the ball for the team on Tuesday.

“Overall, we played pretty well,” he said.

Additionally, Davis said the team is hitting its serves.

“We served the ball pretty well,” he said. “We’ve got several girls that serve it pretty strong.

“Volleyball has a lot to do with momentum,” he said. “When things start going your way and you’re getting serves in, then it’s tough to stop.”

In B-team action, Elba won 25-13, 25-16.

Because Elba didn’t have a junior high team, Pleasant Home held a scrimmage.
