AMS Bulldogs beat OMS

Andalusia’s Middle School Bulldogs beat Opp 16-12 Thursday night in their season-opener at Channel-Lee Stadium.
The Bobcats drew first blood in the first quarter when they scored on a fumble recovery to go ahead 6-0.
In its next offensive possession, Andalusia drove down the field 65 yards, where Taylor Griffin connected with Trevor Parker on a 55-yard pass to get within scoring position.
Griffin then took the ball into the end zone for a quarterback sneak.
James Montgomery rushed in for the two-point conversion to help the Bulldogs go up by two at 8-6.
Andalusia opened up the second half and drove the ball for 11 minutes, 34 seconds and scored on a Montgomery three-yard rush.
Parker scored the two-point conversion on a rush to give Andalusia a 16-6 lead.
Opp drove down the field on its next offensive possession and scored the last touchdown of the night to make it 16-12.
Parker and Morris Callway led the Bulldogs in tackles.
Jaylin Washington had two interceptions, Montgomery went 1-of-1 for 20 yards and Griffin went 2-of-3 for 70 yards and one interception.
Andalusia will host Straughn next Thurs., Sept. 1, at 5:30 p.m. at Bulldogs Stadium.
