White, Sims unite in June 17 nuptials at First Baptist of Luverne

Kristin Kate White and Joshua Wade Sims were united in holy matrimony at 3:00 in the afternoon on June 17, 2006, at First Baptist Church of Luverne.
The Reverend Ronnie Weaver of Auburn officiated over the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jerry White of Luverne.
She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Jack White of Slocomb and the late Katreen Hundley White and the late Mr. and Mrs. Hirschel Creel of Webb.
The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Terry Sims of Alabaster.
He is the grandson of Mrs. Betty Sims of Anniston and the late Willard Jess Sims and the late Mr. and Mrs. Woodfin Grady Culpepper of Pensacola, Fla.
The bride wore an elegant white
satin gown overlaid with silk illusion and embroidered with Anlecon lace.
The Maggie Sotero dress featured embroidered lace on the bateau neckline, off the shoulder lace straps and along the hemline of the dress and train.
The bodice of the dress was accented with an off center sweet of illusion, lace and beading.
The dress closed in the back with white satin covered buttons leading to the lace covered chapel length train.
The chapel length veil was held by an Austrian crystal and pearl tiara.
The veil was made by the bride's mother.
The Austrian crystal, pearl and silver necklace, earrings and bracelet worn by the bride were gifts from her parents.
The bride's hand tied bouquet was designed by Michele's Flowers and was made of white calla lilies, Casablanca lilies, white and yellow roses, white and yellow daisies, green hydrangea, belles of Ireland, springeria and an heirloom handkerchief.
The church was decorated with a large center arrangement of white, green and yellow flowers.
Ferns on white stands were interspersed with the charcoal and silver candelabra with lighted candles.
The front four pews and the four front doors held white pressed tin flower buckets with Casablanca lilies, greenery and white bows.
The bride's father, Jerry White, escorted his daughter down the aisle and gave the parents' blessing.
Mrs. Martha Cates of Auburn and Mrs. Melody Hunt of Mobile served as matrons of honor.
Mrs. Jennifer Hamilton of Rock Springs, Georgia, Mrs. Jessica Hall of Slocomb, Mrs. Natalie McCord of Cottonwood, Miss Meagan Berry of Troy, cousins of the bride, Mrs. Trina Brown of Calera, sister of the groom and Miss Mary Anne Rucks of Birmingham served as bridesmaids.
They wore moss green tea length satin dresses that were sleeveless with bateau necklines.
The bridesmaids carried hand tied bouquets of bells of Ireland, daisies, hydrangea and Casablanca lilies.
Their Austrian crystal jewelry was a gift from the bride.
Miss Mekenzie Peterson of Pensacola, Fla., cousin of the groom, served as flower girl.
Mekenzie wore an heirloom lace, batiste and voile dress.
The sleeveless dress had an heirloom lace collar, hemstitched scalloped voile overlay skirt with lace insertion and pin tucks on the underskirt.
The dress was tied at the waist with a moss satin ribbon.
She carried a lace covered basket with ribbon streamers filled with white rose petals.
The flower girl's dress was made by the bride's mother.
Ring bearer was Jack Smith of Slocomb, cousin of the bride.
Jack wore a black tux with black vest and carried an heirloom ring pillow monogrammed with an S.
Terry Sims served his son as best man.
Groomsmen included Hal Brown, brother-in-law of the groom, Stephen West of New Bern, North Carolina, Blake Trippet of Alexandria, Johnnie McAllister of Pensacola, Fla., cousins of the groom, Kristopher Creel of Tallahassee, Fla., Gerid White of Slocomb, cousins of the bride, and Daniel Rehner of Auburn.
Miss Brittany Akdrige of Bonifay Fla., cousin of the bride, served as the registration table attendant.
Miss Molly Smith, cousin of the bride, Miss Katie Brook Miles, Miss Jordie Thompson and Miss Molly Thompson gave programs to the wedding guests and handed out bubbles at the reception.
Mrs. Martha White, aunt of the bride was pianist; Mrs. Carol Floyd was organist and chimed the hour to start the ceremony.
Mrs. Alecia Atcheson of Montgomery, vocalist, sang “How Beautiful,”
“Only God Could Love You More” and “Pour my Love on You.”
In Ki, Yoon Jee and Yoon Young Cho were instrumentalists providing accompaniment on the cello, clarinet and violin.
Gerid White led the congregation in singing “Amazing Grace” at the end of the ceremony.
The wedding director was Linda Jones of Luverne.
Helium filled wedding balloons were released from the front of the church by wedding guests as the bride and groom left for the reception at the Harbin Ag Center.
Food tables and punch tables were draped with white cloths with lace overlays.
The bride's cake table was overlaid with a keepsake crochet cloth belonging to the bride's paternal grandmother.
The bride's cake was decorated with satin ribbon, confection dots and fresh flowers which included yellow roses, yellow day lilies and white and green daisies.
The groom's chocolate cake was accented with fresh fruit.
The cakes were made by Carol Morrison.
Large fresh flower arrangements consisting of daisies, mums, carnations, bells of Ireland, Casablanca lilies and greenery and silver candelabras decorated the tables.
Fresh flower arrangements for the reception were artfully made by Alice Curtis of Glenwood.
Corsages for the servers and pew bows were made by Janice Miles of Lanett.
Elaine Bozeman of Luverne was the reception director.
The after rehearsal dinner hosted by the groom's parents was held in the fellowship hall of First Baptist Church.
After dinner, Kristin and Josh presented gifts to their attendants.
Kristin and Josh were honored with several showers and parties prior to the wedding.
They received numerous beautiful and generous gifts from family, friends, church families and co-workers.
On March 6, the couple was honored with a miscellaneous shower by the faculty of Shawmut Elementary School of Valley.
On March 26, a Sims' family shower was held in Alabaster.
Trina Brown and Linda Sims were hostesses.
On April 23, First Baptist Church of Luverne hosted a tea to honor the couple.
On Sunday, April 30, a miscellaneous shower was held to honor the couple at the Harrison Cultural Center in Luverne.
The party room was beautifully decorated in green, yellow and white.
Hostesses were Elaine Bozeman, Peggy Mount, Ann Swanner, Donna McDougald, Jackie Sport and Susan Haigler.
On May 6, a family shower was held at Faydette Assembly of God Church in Slocomb.
Kristin's aunts and cousins in the Creel and White family were hostesses to include Wanda Crawford, Jean Crawson, Martha Noyes, Jackie Creel, Glenda Borener, Clarice Creel, Meril Berry and Jessica Hall.
On Saturday, May 20, a bridesmaid luncheon was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joel White in Headland with Patsy White and daughter Jana Currie serving as hostesses.
On Saturday, June 3, a lingerie shower was held in the home of Mrs. Martha Cates of Auburn with Melody Hunt and Melanie Hall assisting as hostesses.
After a honeymoon to Hilton Head, South Carolina and Savannah, Georgia, the couple now reside in Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.
Josh is employed with Agillis Engineering and Kristin is employed with the Renaissance Learning Center.
