FDA JV drops opening game in state tournament

The Glenwood Gators scored a run in the final inning Friday to break a 4-4 tie, thus sealing the win over the Fort Dale Academy junior varsity baseball team in the state tournament, 5-4.
The Eagles tied the game up at 4-4 in the fifth inning when Dustin Till and Eli Blackmon each scored, but Fort Dale could not answer the Gators' final-inning run.
Offensively for Fort Dale, Nathan Branum, Cooper Lewis, Till and Blackmon each scored a run while Hunter Armstrong finished with a sacrifice and an RBI.
With the loss, Fort Dale will face Cottage Hill, who lost to Pike Liberal, today at 8 a.m., at Macon-East.
