The Cardinals scored five runs in the first inning and six in the second Thursday as they downed the Pirates in Georgiana Parks and Rec. Dixie Youth action, 14-8.

Offensively for the Cardinals, Zack Compton and Matt Lewis each scored three runs, including a home run by Compton and a triple by Lewis, while Brandon Oikle scored two runs and Justin Oikle, Kyle Compton, Rodney Cheatham, Tyler Smith, Rakeem Hugler and Areney Peterson each scored one.

For the Pirates, Devin Bonner and Tarien Crittenden each scored two runs while, Matt Sheffield, Orlando Franks and Keonte Gilmore and Richard Boggan each scored one.

The Cardinals will take on the Braves Tuesday at 6 p.m., and the Pirates will take on the Braves at 7 p.m.

Pirates 21, Braves 0

The Pirates scored nine runs in the first inning and never looked back Thursday as they took the easy victory over the Braves, 21-0.

Devin Bonner and Orlando Franks were the leading scorers for the Pirates with three runs apiece while Matt Sheffield, Tarien Crittenden, Geron Feagin, Seth Kelly, Jatavious Finklea, and Richard Boggan each scored two runs. Jody House, Jaquez Payton and Decarlos Mitchell also each scored a run in the win.

Pirates 8, Cardinals 3

Jatavious Finklea and Seth Kelly each scored two runs apiece Tuesday to lift the Pirates to victory over the Cardinals, 8-3.

Geron Feagin, Jody House, Keonte Gilmore and Richard Boggan also each scored a run for the Pirates.

For the Cardinals, Rodney Cheatham scored two runs and Mike Dunn scored one.

Braves 9, Cardinals 8

Chance House scored the winning run in the fourth inning Tuesday to lift the Braves past the Cardinals, 9-8.

House scored a team-high three runs to led the Braves, followed by Keondra Peterson with two runs and Hunter Smith, Jay Williams, Christopher Cobb and Desmond Williams with one apiece.

For the Cardinals, Rakeem Hugler scored two runs while Justin Oikle, Zack Compton, Brandon Oikle, Tyler Smith, Areney Peterson and Kyle Compton each scored one.
