Greenville Main Street's Summer Supper is set for June 14.
The annual al fresco event is slated for 7 p.m. that Thursday. As always, Main Street Director Nancy Idland promises to offer lots of good southern food and fellowship.
“We will be returning to the beautiful grounds of the Hamilton House on College Street again this year and are looking forward to a wonderful event,” Idland said.
Along with the meal, awards will be presented to some deserving individuals that evening.
“Our Greenville Jaycees will present their John D. Murphy Citizen of the Year Award, and Greenville Main Street will present the Greater Greenville Main Street Award and Volunteer of the Year,” Idland said.
Other activities planned for the gala evening include a small-scale silent auction.
“We will offer some wonderful items including a quilt decorated by our local schoolchildren, for this auction. This auction will be a fun way to recoup come of the costs of mounting this free event for the community,” Idland said.
Some surprises are also being planned for the event, so Idland encourages everyone “to come and enjoy a southern supper under the summer sky.”
While invitations will be sent out for the Main Street Summer Supper, Idland encourages anyone interested in attending to contact her at 334-354-2802.
