Joyce N. Woods, age 96, entered the gates of Heaven on New Year’s Eve, Dec. 31, 2024, at the Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville, Arkansas. She was a lifelong resident of Riviera Beach, Florida, until moving to Andalusia in 2012 to live closer to her daughter, where she resided for 13 years. She had just recently moved to an assisted living in Arkansas to be near her son, due to extended health problems.
A memorial service will take place on Saturday, Feb. 1, 2025, at Foreman Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. and the service will follow at 10:30 a.m.
She is survived by her daughter, Gail W. Mullen of Andalusia; two sons, Francis G. “Chuck” Woods of West Palm Beach, Florida, and Gilbert (Alyce) Woods of Rogers, Arkansas. She has four grandchildren, Kenneth Mullen of Andalusia, Pamela (Billy) Doster of Andalusia, Lisa Woods of Jupiter, Florida and Adam Woods of Rogers, Arkansas. She has five great-grandchildren, Andrew Doster of Birmingham, Hayden McLeod of Andalusia, Joshua (Rachel) Doster of Dothan, Megan (Gabe) Williamson of Andalusia, and Garret Paul of Jupiter, Florida. She has six great-great-grandchildren, Natalie McLeod of Andalusia, Sawyer Williamson of Andalusia, Simon Doster of Birmingham, Jameson Doster of Dothan, Maggie Williamson of Andalusia, and Roman Doster of Dothan. She is survived by three sisters, Wanda Robbins of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, Gwen Munro of North Conway, New Hampshire, and Karen (Bob) Margolis of the Villages, Florida; she is also survived by three brothers, Gerald G. FitzGerald of Millington, Tennessee, John FitzGerald of West Palm Beach, Florida, James Orville FitzGerald of West Palm Beach, Florida, along with numerous nieces and nephews who loved their Aunt Joyce very much.
Joyce was preceded in death by a son, Edmund A. Woods Jr.; parents, Gerald and Mary FitzGerald; a sister, Darlene FitzGerald; one brother, Arnold FitzGerald all of Riviera Beach, Florida; and a son-in-law, Larry Mullen of Andalusia.
