John Wilburn Fate “Dickie” Parker, age 57, of Red Level passed away on Jan. 7, 2025, at his residence. He was surrounded by his family.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, Jan. 11, at New Home Baptist Church in McKenzie. Visitation was one hour prior to the service. Rev. Michael Bush officiated. Serving as pallbearers were Terry Coker Sr., Terry Coker Jr., Josh Wiggins, Jacob Wiggins, Clinton Taylor, William Coker Jr., Joey Dicus, Keontya Johnson, James Guyette, and Cody Blackmon. He was laid to rest in the church’s cemetery.
Left to cherish his loving wife include: his wife, Maria Travis Parker of Red Level; daughters, Ashley Parker (Joey Dicus) of Evergreen, Kelsey Parker (James Guyette) of Water Town, New York, and Casey Parker (Keontya Johnson) of Andalusia; brother, Louis Parker (Mandy) of Hornbeck, Louisiana; sisters, Regina Lowe of Andalusia, Shirley McLullough of Greenville, and Susie Kissane (Randall McWilliams) of Greenville; and five grandchildren, Kylie, Ryan, Jensen Parker and Layonna and Kassius Johnson. He is also survived by his loyal Boston Terrier, Remi.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Louis Wilburn Parker Sr. and Mary Sue (Carter) Parker.
Dickie was a lifelong resident of Red Level and a friend to all; a helper to anyone in need. He operated heavy equipment for W.S. Newell and Sons and loved fishing.
