The Opp Cultural Arts Center sponsors a juried art show at its gallery in downtown Opp each year in connection with Opp Fest.
The show is open to all artists in the South Bama Triangle area (Andalusia in the northwest, Elba in the northeast, and Florala in the south). There are categories in multiple forms of art including oils, acrylics, mixed media, works on paper, pottery, and photography with $3,500 in total prize money.
This year’s event was held on Saturday, Oct. 26. All submitted artwork is displayed for a month in the 10,000 sq. ft. gallery, which is open Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Winners are announced in the OCAC gallery during Opp Fest each year. The 2024 winners in each of their specific categories are Best of Show – Lona Johnson, Best of Colors of Fall – Mercedez L. Rockwell, Best Acrylic – Cathy Powell, Best Photography – Krissy Ellis, Best Oil – Mary Ann Norton, Best Pottery – Cindy Messick, Best Works on Paper – Kevin Hargrave, and Mixed Media – Cathy Powell.
The Opp Cultural Arts Center is located at 107 South Main Street in Opp. For more information call 334-504-9020.
