Pleasant Home (1-7, 0-6 1A Region 2) will bid for an upset win in the last road game of the season at Georgiana (5-4, 4-2) on Friday, Oct. 25, at 7 p.m.
This will be the 15th matchup between the two teams dating back to the 2010 season. The Panthers lead the all-time series 10-4 against the Eagles.
“Georgiana is very athletic and very senior-heavy. They like to spread the ball and run spread. They are fighting for a playoff spot, so they will be focused and we must be as well,” Head Coach Kevin Bond said.
Last week, Pleasant Home fell short at home against Kinston, 48-20. Georgiana also struggled on the road and was defeated by Elba, 49-22.
Bond was pleased with the efforts of his players in their previous game despite the final result.
“I was very proud of the kids for fighting hard in the game against Kinston. We showed the ability to sustain long drives and score points. However, we still have to clean up penalties and fumbles. These are signs of being undisciplined, which is on me. We will correct these issues in the future,” he said.
The Eagles suffered a 61-0 road setback to the Panthers last season.
