Richard Thomas Wallace Jr., 61, of Dozier passed away in his home unexpectedly after long-term health issues.

A memorial service is being held at Lindsey Bridge Baptist Church Andalusia. The service will be Oct. 10, at 3 p.m. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

Richard was born in Rochester, New York on Sept. 11, 1963 to Richard T. Wallace Senior and Joanne Nasca Wallace. He was a proud Italian American who lived for nothing more than spending time with his friends and family fishing, hunting and gathering around a huge pot of his famous spaghetti.

Richard served proudly aboard the USS McKee and won many awards for bull riding for the Navy.

He met and married his wife, Melinda Barton Wallace, and they have three daughters who all currently reside in Alabama along with many precious grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.

Richard is survived by his wife, Melinda Barton Wallace; daughters, Megan Seaman (Brett), Melissa Wallace (Lance) Murfield, and Mackenzie Boutwell (Dalton); grandchildren, Tyler, Rylan, Kylie, Aylan, Caiden, Carter, Madeline, Odin, Piper, and Willow; a sister, Cynthia East; and many nieces and one nephew.
