Opp (5-1, 3-1 4A Region 2) will have to regroup after its first loss of the year and celebrate homecoming against Geneva (0-6, 0-4) on Friday, Oct. 11, at 7 p.m.
This will be the 66th meeting between the two teams dating back to 1923. The Bobcats have a 39-24-2 lead in the all-time series over the Panthers.
Last week, Opp made the trip to Dale County and saw a five-game winning streak end, 28-12. Geneva came up just short in a home game with New Brockton, 37-35.
The Bobcats won the previous matchup at home, 67-14, in 2020 before the Panthers forfeited the 2021 matchup.
The crowning of this year’s homecoming queen and court presentation will be at halftime.
