The Frank Jackson Trail Masters of Opp welcomes businesses, churches, clubs, families, and individuals to join the festivities of its annual “Scarecrows in the Park” event this fall.
Participants are encouraged to create and present their own fall-themed display to be viewed by the public at the local state park. Use your imagination, recreate a scene, or use decorations you have purchased to set up your very own display for a fun way to promote your business, group, or hobby.
Placement of signs, logos, and uniforms are great ways to benefit your business or club with free advertising and recognition. The experience promotes free fun for all. Materials used should be able to withstand rain, wind, and the sun. Wildlife may want to nest in or claim components, so please do not use heirlooms or keepsakes.
Frank Jackson State Park features great places to present your display on the walking trails. There is ample space, and you are allowed and welcome to create displays at more than one location. Register your space(s) now.
The event will officially begin with a ribbon cutting on Saturday, Oct. 5, and will run until Sunday, Dec. 1. All displays must be taken down for next year or be changed over to a winter Christmas theme to be viewed until January.
For registration message the FJSP Trail Masters Facebook page, email fjsptrailmasterevents@gmail.com, or call 334-488-9572.
Frank Jackson State Park is located at 100 Jerry Adams Drive in Opp. Day use hours are from 6 a.m. until 7 p.m. The cost is $4 for adults and $2 for both children and seniors.
