A Florala businessman is dead following a weekend motorcycle accident.

Alabama State Troopers said the accident occurred at 9:30 p.m. Friday at the intersection of Finks Mill Road and Dr. J.F. Holley Road in Florala.

Victor Joe Davis, 51, was killed after he apparently crashed a 2008 Harley Davidson motorcycle into a wooded area.

He was not discovered until approximately 8 a.m. Saturday.

Reports indicate that Davis, while attempting to make a turn at the intersection, overshot the turn, crossed the roadway and crashed into the wooded area.

Davis was the owner of Florala Recycling, a recycling company located on Lockhart Blvd.
