ReAct Theatre and Arts has announced its 2024- 2025 season with a variety of stage productions and events. Entering its third year, ReAct is a not-for profit community theatre that has enjoyed enormous community support.

First up will be “Tales from the Tomb,” a historic walk through Andalusia’s Magnolia Cemetery. ReAct president Roger Powell stated that the event was so popular last year that a second night was added and both sold out. This year, the event will be Oct. 5 and 6 with three “shows.”

Nov. 15-17 will be a production of “All I Really Need To Know I Learned in Kindergarten” based on the books by Robert Fulghum conceived and adapted by Ernest Julia with music by David Caldwell. This play takes a funny, insightful look at what is profound everyday life and is sure to bring back memories.

ReAct is especially excited to host “Sean of the South,” also known as Sean Dietrich, on Jan. 18, 2025 on the LBWCC Dixon Performing Arts Center stage. Sean is a storyteller and musician and will be bringing his band as well. Afterwards, he will meet and greet the audience and autograph books and other works. Sean was in Andalusia several years ago and audiences will not want to miss his return appearance which is sure to be a sell out.

In Spring 2025, ReAct will present “Casserole,” a heartwarming play about late-in-life romance written by Marianne Merrill Weber. A native of Andalusia, Marianne was the author of ReAct’s initial and world premiere production “Ladies of the Jury.”

“Casserole” will be presented as a dinner theatre with dates and location to be announced later.

Are you ready for the Return of the Divas? “Divas and Desserts” returns to the scene after having been presented several years ago. This will be a fun cabaret style evening listening to songs and banter from several of our local songbirds accompanied by desserts and liquid refreshments. The date and location will be announced.

Additional events are also in the works but not yet ready to be announced. Auditions for “Tales from the Tomb” have been held and the cast will be announced within the week. Auditions for “Kindergarten” will be coming up, so watch for more information regarding that.

Powell said all ticket sales for upcoming events will be available on-line at eventbrite.com. Please watch local media, along with the React Theatre and Arts Facebook page, for event dates, times, ticket prices, on-sale dates, and other information.
