STATE CHAMPIONS: Andalusia’s 8U All-Stars go undefeated on way to Babe Ruth title

Andalusia’s 8U All-Stars went undefeated at the Alabama Babe Ruth Softball 8U State Tournament in Lineville last weekend to win the state title and is headed to the Babe Ruth Softball World Series in Florence, Alabama, in July.
Andalusia defeated Roanoke, 16-1, and New Site, 16-6, in pool play Friday.
On Saturday, they entered bracket play, where they faced familiar foes. They defeated New Site again, 16-1, then went on to best Opp, 22-21, to advance to the finals.
On Saturday afternoon, Andalusia defeated Covington County, 18-3, to win the state championship.
Team members include Hadley C. McDaniel, Ettalena Pearl Sanders, Khalie Cox, Celyne Adams, Cayleigh Michelle Owens, Enslee Rose Floyd, Willow Castleberry, Charlotte Claire Bumpers, Adalyn Brooks, Olivia Grace Sightler, Stella Dutton, and Olivia Grace Rhea.
Coaches are Tanner Brooks, Cole Sightler, Will Bumpers and Brad Sanders.
The Babe Ruth Softball World Series will be a seven-day event in Florence, beginning July 23, with championship games set for July 31.
