LBW Community College is proud to announce the addition of its first-ever bass fishing team, providing a new avenue for students to excel.

LBWCC President Dr. Brock Kelley expressed enthusiasm about the addition of the bass fishing team to the college’s roster of extracurricular activities offered.

“At LBW, we are dedicated to providing students with educational experiences that extend beyond the classroom. Introducing this bass fishing team aligns perfectly with our mission of supporting student success and personal growth. We look forward to seeing our student anglers thrive both on the water and in their academic pursuits,” Kelley said.

The team will consist of seasoned student anglers who will compete in college-level bass fishing tournaments with two and four-year colleges and universities.

Instructor Shaun Moore will serve as the club advisor.

“I am thrilled to have the opportunity to guide and mentor the talented individuals who will make up the first fishing team at LBW. Fishing is not only a sport but also a passion that fosters discipline, perseverance, and sportsmanship. I am confident that our program will make waves in the collegiate fishing community and make LBW proud,” Moore said.

The first tournament is scheduled for the fall of 2024.
