With area tournaments now complete, eight county teams remain alive as the 2023-2024 basketball season reaches the sub-regional round on Friday, Feb. 9, and Saturday, Feb. 10.

The winner and runner-up of each girls’ and boys’ area tournament play in one round of games according to pre-drawn pairings. Games will be played at the home sites of area winners.

Tickets will be sold through GoFan at http://gofan.co. The Alabama High School Athletic Association has set admission for $10.00 per game.

All games are scheduled for 6 p.m. The sub-regional schedule for Covington County teams is as follows:

Friday, Feb. 9

• 1A: Area 3 Runner-up Red Level at Area 4 Winner Marengo
• 3A: Area 2 Winner Straughn vs. Area 3 Runner-up Providence Christian
• 4A: Area 3 Runner-up Andalusia at Area 1 Winner Orange Beach

Saturday, Feb. 10

• 1A: Area 2 Winner Florala vs. Area 1 Runner-up Leroy
• 1A: Area 3 Runner-up Pleasant Home at Area 4 Winner Southern Choctaw
• 3A: Area 4 Runner-up Opp at Area 1 Winner Cottage Hill
• 3A: Area 2 Runner-up Straughn at Area 3 Winner Providence Christian
• 4A: Area 3 Winner Andalusia vs. Area 1 Runner-up Bayside Academy

All sub-regional winners will advance to the South Regional at Garrett Coliseum in Montgomery.
