On Saturday, July 22, Lockhart resident Myrtle Bradley celebrated her 82nd birthday party with a group of friends at The Ranch House in Florala. Also celebrating was her childhood friend, Ovetta Smith, who is also turning 82.

Bradley was thoroughly surprised when she arrived at The Ranch House to several of her friends and family singing, “Happy Birthday” to her.

The table was decorated with hot pink tablecloths and place settings, hot pink and white gift bags for each guest, and hot pink roses for each guest.

Smith and Bradley each had a half-dozen roses at their place settings. 

Bradley and Smith share a birthday within nine days of each other and the two enjoyed celebrating their 82nd birthday together.  Normally the two friends meet on their birthdays and eat a burger at the Ranch House as a celebration of their birthday. This year Bradley’s children and grandchildren had something else in mind.

They decided to surprise their mother and grandmother with a small birthday celebration.  All who attended enjoyed themselves, laughing, eating and enjoying each other’s company talking about old times.

Those in attendance included: Myrtle Bradley, Ovetta Smith, Delbra Thrash, Maggie Davis, Mattie Freeney, Rena Crittenden, Corene Ross, Tonya Dotson, Lexus Easterling, Tiffany Foster, Vanessa Bradley-Kelley, Tyrelle Kelley II, Sarah Psalms Kelley, Mercedes Carter, Aniyah Carter.

Bradley officially turned 82 the following day on Sunday, July 23.
