Ruby Jo (Henderson) Ingram, age 76, passed away July 13, 2023, at Andalusia Health after an extended illness.

Ruby was born April 18, 1947, in Rainbow City, Alabama, as a beloved only child to Charles and Geddie Henderson. She grew up here in Alabama and then as she matured, she met her future husband, Bill. When she turned 18, they married, traveled to Michigan, had two amazing sons, and then moved back to Alabama, settling in Athens first and then finally in Andalusia. They were one of the rare couples who had a lifelong love until he passed away in May 2023.

To anyone who ever knew Ruby found someone who would tell them like it is, help them any way she could, crack up with them, and hold them if they needed a shoulder to cry on. She taught her sons to live the exact same way that she lived: honest, strong, hard-working, dedicated, and above all with an unshakeable faith in God. She is now at peace with Him and her family gone before her.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Lester (Kimberly) Ingram of Andalusia; daughter-in-law, Jennifer (Phillips) Ingram of Andalusia; stepdaughters, Patsy (Norman) King of Ludowichi, Georgia, and Nora Rebecca Bass of Monroe, North Carolina; grandchildren: Samantha (Jeremy) Sanders of Andalusia, Leslie A. Ingram of Andalusia, Austin C. Ingram of Andalusia, Dan (Bailey) Modisett of Aberdeen, North Carolina, Jenny Modisett of Monroe, North Carolina, Johnny, Tony, Brian (Leslie) of the King family; great-grandchildren: Sara R. Sanders, Raelynn R. Sanders, Gavin Modisett, 10 great-grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren of the King family. She will be missed by her church family and her many extended family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Bill Ingram, her son, Billy Ingram Jr., her mother and father, Charles W. and Geddie Henderson, and her granddaughter, Hailey Nicole Modisett.

Services will be announced by the family at a later date.

Keahey Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
