Emma Stallings Kelley went home to be with her Savior July 4, 2023.
Emma was born April 27, 1941. She was the daughter of James and Nina Stallings. She was born in Kentucky and was the eldest of seven children. Emma excelled in school and was salutatorian her senior year. She attended Lexington Baptist College, where she met a senior named George, the love of her life. Although she had moved most of her childhood, she and George put down roots in Andalusia their entire married life.
She was a true Ruth in that she took the Kelley family as her family. She was a member of Pleasant Home Baptist Church. She raised her three children while being a dedicated pastor’s wife and a dedicated employee of PowerSouth. She was a talented seamstress. She loved her family and friends deeply. Her greatest love was for her Savior Jesus Christ and her husband George, whom she shared over 62 years with.
Funeral services for Mrs. Kelley will be Monday, July 10, 11 a.m., at Pleasant Home Baptist Church with Brother Fred Kelley officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Home Baptist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 9, from 5 until 9 p.m. at Foreman Funeral Home.
She is preceded in death by her beloved Kelley sisters as well as one sister and three brothers. She is survived by her loving husband, George; her brothers: Fred Kelley, Jim Kelley (Gail) AG Palmore, Tom Stallings (Margaret), and Jim Stallings; three children: Nina Reynolds (Rolfe), George Kelley Junior (Rosemary), Beverly King (Jeff); five grandchildren: Jeffrey King II, Luke King (Mariah), Kelley Reynolds Reid (Daniel), Zach King (Kacie), and Parker Kelley; and two step-grandchildren, Hannah Aaron and William Aaron. She was blessed with eight great-grandchildren: Hailey King, Mackenzie King, Izabella King, Walker King, Bryant Reid, Luella King, Owen Reid, and Ezra King, due in December. She is also survived by countless nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Pallbearers will be Brian Kelley, Butch Kelley, Alan Palmore, Scott Talbert, Jeffrey King II, and Zach King. The honorary pallbearer will be Parker Kelley.
