Opp scored six early runs and cruised to a 13-3 win over Zion Chapel in a tournament game at Andalusia that featured Bradleigh Lanier hitting for the cycle Saturday, April 15.

The Lady Bobcats, ranked third in Class 3A, improved to 22-9 on the season. The Lady Rebels dropped to 11-10 for the year.

Riley Bannin walked with two outs in the first, but Addison Moseley kept ZCHS off the scoreboard. Amaya Womack was hit by a pitch before Allie Wismer walked in the bottom half. Bannin then struck out the next two batters, but OHS mounted a huge two-out rally. Moseley reached on a costly error as Womack and Wismer scored. Haylei Henagan followed with an RBI single and scored Taylor Adams. Rylie Thrash walked and set up a three-run homer by Lanier for a 6-0 lead after one inning.

Moseley allowed a leadoff single in the second but picked up two strikeouts. Wismer started the bottom of the frame with a single and crossed the plate on an RBI double from Reese Cauley. After Cauley took third on a passed ball, Moseley helped herself with an RBI groundout and pushed the lead to 8-0. The Lady Rebels loaded the bases on two walks and a single in the top of the third before Moseley hung another zero with a flyout. Lanier then delivered a triple and scored on a groundout by Jaidyn Ivey. The Lady Bobcats maintained their 9-0 lead with three innings complete.

Zion Chapel got on the board in the fourth with a run. Madison Meeks had a one-out double and cut the deficit to 9-1 when she scored on an error. Moseley singled in the bottom half, but Opp could not take advantage and sent the game to the fifth. Kaylee Hodge and Bannin reached on back-to-back miscues before Amber Kidd singled in Hodge. Meeks grounded out with the bases full as Bannin scored and brought ZCHS within six at 9-3. OHS answered the call with a pair of two-out runs. Taylor Adams laced an RBI double and scored Thrash. Cauley then brought home Lanier who had reached on a single for an 11-3 lead after five.

Lanier worked a 1-2-3 top of the sixth and set down the Lady Rebels on 10 pitches. The Lady Bobcats strung together another two-out rally and called the game early. Moseley singled before Lanier doubled and completed the cycle. Ivey cashed in Moseley with an RBI single, and Womack followed suit when Lanier scored the winning run.

Lanier finished 4-for-4 with three RBIs and four runs scored as part of her historic day. Cauley, Ivey, Moseley, and Henegan all added two hits. Moseley was the winning pitcher with three innings of two-hit, no-run ball and struck out three. Lanier allowed one earned run on four hits and struck out two in three innings of relief.

Opp completes its regular season area schedule with a trip to Pike County on Tuesday, April 18, and hosts Enterprise on Thursday, April 20. Both games are scheduled to start at 4:30 p.m.
