Christin Harrington’s seventh-grade Discoveries class at Pleasant Home School came together in the fall and completed a pillow project for hospice patients.

Students learned the process of making pillows and provided them to the staff at Southern Care Hospice for patients to use.

According to Harrington, Pleasant Home has been working on this project for several years.

“I have taken over since Ms. Patton retired two years ago and am very fond of this project. It is a small but important service that we can provide for the patients at Southern Care Hospice. The students enjoy participating in it because they get to learn the basics of sewing, while also learning how important philanthropy is. I have several students that put a lot of effort into making the pillows and really appreciate the opportunity to help people,” Harrington said.

“On behalf of the patients and families of Southern Care Hospice, we would like to thank the entire community for all your support in helping our patients and their families to have a very merry Christmas. There were so many wonderful people and organizations who helped spread cheer to our patients this year. On behalf of the patients, caregivers, and Southern Care Staff, we thank you for everything you did,” Southern Care Hospice Volunteer Coordinator Jodie Williams added.
