The Covington Equine Association’s End of Summer Buckle Series is the newest addition to rodeo events at the Covington Center Arena.

“This group has worked very hard to bring a barrel event to our community. I think their efforts show by the increasing amount of participants and spectators to the show,” Covington County Administrator Karen Sowell said.

The Covington Equine Association was previously known as the Opp Saddle Club.

“We now have new board members who have revamped our non-profit organization and have never held a Summer Buckle Series in Andalusia until now. Our goals are to bring in revenue for the county and barrel racing back to the community. We ultimately are hopeful we will have a super show locally for barrel racers from across the country to attend,” Kayla Salter added.

Finals are scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 17 at 7 p.m. in the arena. In addition, a Youth Fun Day will be held the same day beginning at 10 a.m.
