Charles A. “Lex” Short announced Tuesday that Covington County jury trials scheduled for next week have been canceled.

As a result of the high numbers of COVID-19 cases currently being diagnosed in Covington County, an order was made that jury terms beginning Monday, Jan. 24 is now canceled.

Cases currently set on this trial docket will be reset by future order. Individuals who were summoned for jury duty for the jury term are hereby released from that summons and should not appear.
