To say Red Level’s varsity basketball teams are playing well would be an understatement as both the varsity girls and varsity boys are unbeaten.
RLS went to Pleasant Home and earned a varsity road sweep Monday night against PHS. In a matchup of undefeated squads, the Lady Tigers (6-0) downed the Lady Eagles (5-1) by a final score of 45-26. Ruby Carroll paced Red Level with 15 points. In the boys’ contest, the Tigers (6-0) took down the Eagles (3-3) 70-53 behind a strong offensive performance. Javen Poindexter led RLS with 24 points and was followed by Demarcus Johnson who added 20. Pleasant Home (6-0) won the B-team game 63-25 over Red Level (2-4).
“I commend the players for their hard work and smart attitude on the court. As coaches, we are seeking ways to reduce turnovers and become a better rebounding team. However, we still have a long way to go, but by practicing and challenging one another, we will get there. Also, Dominic Williams is our new B-team coach and is doing a good job. It’s a pleasure to have him on board,” Head Coach Bridges Anderson said.
Red Level remains on the road for another county matchup Tuesday, Dec. 7 at Florala with action getting underway at 4:30 p.m.
