The Andalusia Police Department is investigating the shooting death of a local man Saturday night and seeks a person of interest, Chief Paul Hudson confirmed.
Chief Hudson said the APD was dispatched to the Mock Street area at about 10:30 p.m. after gunshots were reported. When officers arrived, they found Domonique Terrell Curry, 32, of Andalusia, unresponsive in the roadway of the 400 block of Mock Street. Advanced EMS transported Curry to Andalusia Health, where it was determined he had suffered at least one gunshot wound. He later succumbed to the injuries.
APD’s Criminal Investigation Division responded to process the scene.
Chief Hudson said a person of interest has been developed in the shooting, but more details will not be available until information is obtained from the Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences and multiple interviews are conducted.
Chief Hudson expressed his appreciation to several citizens who provided vital information in the case.
“Without the help of these individuals, we would not be as far along as we are,” Hudson said. “The community is often our eyes and ears and we truly appreciate those willing to help. If you see something, say something.”
APD will release more as information becomes available.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the Andalusia Police Department at 334-222-1155.
