Mrs. Anita Blackwell of Red Level passed away unexpectedly Friday, Oct. 1, 2021, at her residence. She was 58.
Funeral services were held at 1 p.m., Monday, Oct. 4, 2021, at Keahey Funeral Home Chapel. The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 3, 2021, at Keahey Funeral Home.
Rev. John Hunt officiated the service. Interment followed in the Fairmount Baptist Church Cemetery in Red Level. Serving as pallbearers will be Jonathan Kyser, Nieamhia Pouncey, Clint Walker, Danny Walker, Michael Kyzer, Chad Willhite, and Justin Geiger.
Keahey Funeral Home is entrusted with services.
Left to cherish her memories, beloved sister, Linda Pouncey (Howard Oliver “Puffy”) of Andalusia; nieces and nephews, Melissa Barbarow, Angie Dunnigan (Buddy), Phillip Sorrells, Phillis Mijares, Tammy Ford, Kim Glidewell, Linda Stallworth (Aundrea), Nieamiah Pouncey, Clint Walker, Danny Walker, David Burgans, Richard Burgans, Linda Huckabee, Teresa Burgans, Melody Burgans, Jimmy Neal, James Lang, Jamielee Lang, and Lintaezhalang, and many great-nieces and nephews; a special friend, Carl Walker.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents, Boney Neal, Jr. and Bernice Inez Golden Neal, her husband, James Blackwell, sisters, France Burgans, Dorothy Walker, Barbara Sorrells, and Jamie Neal; nephews, Jessie Barbarow and Clayton Walker.
Anita worked at the Andalusia Manor for several years; she enjoyed flower gardening and her pets. She also leaves behind her two beautiful Pekingese dogs, Trixie and Baby. She loved her family and will be greatly missed.
