The Pleasant Home Eagles defeated Laurel Hill Thursday night at home 8-2.
Pleasant Home’s Justin Holt and Forrest Greathouse scored in the second inning. Holt came around on a passed ball and Greathouse scored on a single from Hunter Weaver.
In the fourth inning, Holt scored when he reached on a hit by pitch.
Ethan King and Sid Newby scored in the fifth inning, while Greathouse, Kaleb Powell and Newby scored in the sixth.
Winning pitcher Blake Herman gave up four hits and two runs on seven innings and struck out four.
“(Herman) did a great job and did what a pitcher is supposed to do,” Pleasant Home coach Bradley Stephens said. “We had a couple kids out this game, but we played well. The bottom side of the line up got things started.
“We came and played, but played good defense only having two errors in the game, so that was good,” he said.
One defensive play that Stephens said really changed the game was when Holt dove and caught a hit ball, then threw it to Herman at first for the double play.
“It was a great way at the end to finish the game out,” he said.
The Eagles improve to 18-7 on the season.
