Mrs. Angela South Cotton, “Angie,” 64, of Andalusia, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2021 in Pensacola, Florida.
Angie like many things: beautiful clothes, beautiful jewelry, especially costume, big and flashy. She liked old antique furniture, collections of collectables she called “sit arounds,” and decorating for all holidays. Christmas was her favorite time of year with her hundreds of Santas, numerous nativity sets and angels. She liked to turn an old, out-dated beach house into a fun, updated get away using finds from thrift and second hand stores.Angie liked to talk!
Angie loved many things: her family, Alan, Lee and Chris were her world. You better not mess with her boys. She loved her brother and nieces, all her in-laws, her many close cousins and relatives on the Posey side and the South side. Angie loved her friends from way back in the Red Level days to recent ones she might have met, young, old, from all walks of life. They were dear to her.
She loved her church family. From chaperoning a van load of girls to Six Flags, ringing hand bells, preparing church suppers for 200 people with ease.
Above all else, Angie loved Jesus. The one she put her trust and hope in as a young girl at a summer camp. Through good times and challenging times, her faith in God sustained her.
When asked which is the greatest commandment in the law? Jesus replied, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.” And the second? “Your neighbor as yourself.” She did and she did!
