I, E, L, and K may be random letters to most people but not for local business owner Teresa Ferrell.

Ferrell wanted to bring something different to Andalusia in the spring and began her own business called The ILEK Beautique. “Be Exclusive. Be Divine. Be Yourself!” is her motto.

Convenience is without a doubt one of her biggest goals. “Everybody has to go out of town and shop. I like stuff but get tired of driving. I want to leave my house and go to the store then come back. I don’t want to be stuck in traffic.” She offers a large assortment of clothing and accessories for all ages. “I offer designer, Nike, Adidas, Tommy Hilfiger, and also regular clothes. We also have necklaces, contacts, hair, purses, underwear, cologne, and perfume.”

She originally started her business in November 2019 selling out of her trunk in the front of her home before opening a storefront March 18, 2021. Ferrell also offers a delivery service for customers and ships out of town. “If I’m around town, I will deliver in town or outside of town between Andalusia and Montgomery,” Ferrell said. Those choosing her delivery services will incur a $7.95 delivery fee.

The letters in her business name reflect the names of her four children: Ivory, Eboni, Lauren, and Kollin. She explained, “I couldn’t think of a name and wanted to bring them into something. When my father passed in January, I thought it was a great way to remember him because he is Hispanic. Instead of calling it a different name, IELK was perfect.”

Ferrell also alluded to the difference in beautique and boutique. “When you come in my shop, I want you to leave feeling beautiful. You can get your lashes done, get a wig, and even an outfit for a Saturday night. This is a one-stop shop and a place where you can come and get everything in one setting,” she said.
