Mrs. Alice Yelverton DeForest, 86, of Andalusia, passed away Wednesday April 28, 2021 at her residence.
Alice was a loving Christian woman who served others and loved to praise God by singing hymns. She taught children’s Bible Class, cleaned the church building, and helped others in many ways. Her loved extended to the care of her many cats. Alice also enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and quilting as well as shopping.
Graveside services will be at 10 AM Friday April 30th at Cedar Grove Cemetery on the Brooklyn Road with Minister Jason Greene officiating and Foreman Funeral Home directing. No formal visitation is scheduled, the family will visit with friends at the cemetery.
She is survived by her two daughters, Carolyn DeForest of Pensacola, FL, Janet DeForest and Greg Barber of Atlanta, Ga; one sister, Sue Sutton and husband Sammy of Andalusia.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Wilbur DeForest; her parents, J. C. Yelverton and Isabelle Huggins Yelverton and sister, Jean Williams.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Andalusia Animal Shelter, 101 Coliseum Avenue, Andalusia, AL 36420.
