JAMES DUDLEY “NICK” JOHNSON
Mr. James Dudley “Nick” Johnson, 93, of Andalusia, passed away Wednesday January 27, 2021 at his residence.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
Mr. Johnson was born in the Rawls community to Willie Lee “Will” Johnson and Ether Rawls Johnson, he was their last surviving child. As the son of a farmer, he went on to Auburn University and earned a BS degree in Accounting. He was a lifelong Auburn Tiger. Nick proudly served his country in the US Army and was a part of the “greatest generation”, having served in WWII. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Andalusia where he served as a Sunday School teacher for more that 40 years and sang in the church choir. During his years of work life, he was employed with Alatex and TPS. He was also a Kiwanis Club member for more than 50 years. Mr. Johnson was a true southern gentleman and was the kindest and most loving man and father anyone can ever know.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Irene Faulkenberry Johnson; his daughter, Joy Rebecca Sylvester and her husband Rod all of Andalusia.
Mr. Johnson is preceded in death by his siblings, a twin brother, Rodney Rawls “Bud” Johnson of Dozier, Semmie Gray Jones of Brewton, and Jimmie Joyce Reinier of Birmingham.
