On Tuesday, a Brewton man led several law enforcement agencies on a chase from Covington County to East Brewton and is now behind bars.
According to Drug Task Force agent Ken Harris, there was a traffic stop on the vehicle on Tuesday at 11:03 a.m.
While talking to Keith Anderson Squaire, 46, Harris said they identified an illegal substance in the vehicle. After asking Squaire about the substance, Harris said he took off.
The chase took law enforcement all the way to East Brewton where Harris said Squaire vacated the vehicle and was apprehended. Most of the drugs were recovered, as well.
Currently, Squaire is being held on a $16,000 bond for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and attempting to elude.
Harris would like to thank the Covington County Sheriff’s Department, the Escambia County Sheriff’s Department, the East Brewton Police Department, the Alabama State Troopers and the Alabama Game and Fish Division for assisting in the arrest of Squaire.
