The Andalusia Police Department has released the identity of the victim in the ongoing investigation into a Monday night murder.
Capt. Jamey Wismer said the APD was called to a George Street residence at about 9:30 p.m. on Monday, November 16. Responding officers found a male victim, Micah Spencer Coon, 26, unresponsive as a result of a gunshot wound. Coon was later pronounced dead at the scene by Covington County Coroner Norman Hobson.
“We are not releasing details at this time, as we have an ongoing murder investigation,” Wismer said. “We would appreciate any help from the community, and from witnesses.”
Wismer said anyone with information who would like to leave it anonymously can call CrimeStoppers at 334-215-STOP (7867). Alternately, they may contact the APD at 334-222-1155 and leave information.
“They may present information to us anonymously, as well,” he said.
