The Red Level High School varsity football team (0-2) fell to the McKenzie tigers Friday night, 50-12.
Brody Ingram and Parker Adams each scored a touchdown for the tigers, and Micah Wright had an interception.
Coach Tony Ingram said he is prepared to improve mistakes made tonight for next week.
“First off, I’ll say hats off to coach Luther and the staff. They did an excellent job and they outplayed us in every aspect of the game. We put ourselves in bad positions all night with too many turnovers and you’re not going to win many games like that. We can’t do that against anybody,” Ingram said. “I thought we had a good plan coming in, but we just made too many mistakes. We’ll correct them Monday and get ready again for Friday night.”
Ingram plans to focus on correcting ball security and consistency with the team.
“I don’t know how many fumbles or interceptions we had, but it was a lot. We had some missed blocking assignments and I thought defensively we played well for the most part, but then we’d have a blown assignment and they’d score. Our offense put our defense in a bad position all night, but our offense is our defense,” Ingram said. “At times we’d tackle well, at times we’d block well. We didn’t do anything well all night, consistently. We’ve gotta work on consistency, ball security, and that’s about it.”
